Roberta Sigel Death Mourned

It is with sadness that we learned recently that Roberta Sigel passed away on October 25, 2008. We are told she had a quiet and peaceful death, with her sons at her side.

Roberta Sigel was a Distinguished Service Professor of Political Science at Rutgers University, a pioneer in the study of adult political socialization, and a long-time member and supporter of ISPP with a strong commitment to the field of Political Psychology and to supporting junior scholars. (ISPP has long had junior scholar awards presented in Roberta's name, and recently expanded the Sigel Fund, to further support junior scholars.)

There will be a special memorial article included in an upcoming issue of PS:  Political Science and Politics. Also, Sue Tolleson-Rinehart (suetr@unc.edu) is collecting memories and reflections for a reminiscence piece.

Our sincerest condolences to Roberta's friends, family, and colleagues.
