By Air:

You might consider visiting the website for Portland International Airport (PDX for the locals). It contains links for ground transportation to and from the airport to downtown Portland. PDX is close to downtown, approximately 35-40 minutes. The link below can provide you with all the information you need to plan your arrival at Embassy Suites for the 2007 Conference.

If you choose to rent a car and drive to the Conference location, here is the route from the airport: Airport Way to I-205 S. Go 3 miles to I-84 West. Go 6 miles and take the Portland exit. Follow City Center signs, stay in right lane and go over the Morrison Bridge. Turn right at the first light onto 2nd Avenue. Go 4 blocks to Ash Street and turn left. Go 1 block to 3rd and turn left. Go 1 block to Pine and turn right. The hotel entrance will be on the right-hand side. It is a nine mile drive, and will take you about 25 minutes (traffic load dependent). Embassy Suites does provide self-parking, but the rates are high (USD 15.00, and that applies to every time you take the car out and come back). If you park and leave the car for 24 hours, it is a USD 15.00 charge. If you go out during the day to go play somewhere, and come back and park, it’s an additional USD 15.00. There are several self-park garages in the local area that are less expensive.

If you choose local ground transportation, the pickup area for taxis, town cars, long-haul shuttles, hotel vans and parking lot shuttle buses is located in the center section of the airport terminal's lower roadway on the baggage claim and departure level. Airporter shuttles, off-airport rental car shuttles and reserved vehicles are found in the section of the lower roadway closest to the garage. Most transportation providers serve downtown Portland, which is approximately 20-40 minutes from Portland International Airport.
