Rose McDermott

Rose McDermott is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She holds a Master's Degree in Experimental Social Psychology and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University. She has held two fellowships at Harvard University, the John M. Olin fellowship in National Security Studies and the Women and Public Policy Fellowship. She is the author of Risk Taking in International Relations: Prospect Theory in American Foreign Policy and Political Psychology in International Relations, both published by the University of Michigan Press. Her primary area of research in political psychology lies in the area of international relations. She has been an active member of ISPP. She is the 2000 recipient of the Erik Erikson award. She is a past member of the Governing Council and a current member of the editorial board of Political Psychology.
